Notice to Member Clubs - Grassroots Standards

Implementation for 2026 Season

PEI Soccer would like to provide an important update regarding the implementation of
Canada Soccer’s Grassroots Standards for the 2026 outdoor season.

As many of you know, Canada Soccer communicated in February 2025 that all Member
Associations are required to fully align with the updated Grassroots Standards for the 2026
playing season. With the transition currently underway at PEI Soccer, we recognize that this
information has not reached clubs in a consistent or actionable way, and we appreciate the
challenges this has created in your planning.

Following recent discussions, and on behalf of Canada Soccer, we are pleased to confirm
that PEI Soccer has been granted a six-month dispensation for U13, through the end of
September 2026, to support a phased transition.

U13 Scores & Standings - Summer 2026
For the 2026 Summer Season, PEI Soccer will operate the U13 divisions with scores and
standings:
? Full removal of scores and standings at U13 will take effect no later than October 1,
2026, in accordance with the dispensation period.
? Additional guidance and timelines will be shared with clubs to support a smooth
transition.

U11 Tournaments - Required Festival Format
Beginning in Summer 2026, all U11 tournaments and events must fully align with the
Grassroots Standards. This includes:
? Festival format only
? No scores, no standings, no results-based awards
? Focus on development, equal participation, and a positive playing environment.

This requirement applies to all club-hosted and PEI Soccer-sanctioned U11 events.
We appreciate your patience and collaboration as we work together to ensure alignment with
national standards and to support the best possible development environment for young
players across the province.
